By using the DawaScout app you agree to these terms. The texts are available in Arabic and English.
1. The service
DawaScout is a service for finding pharmacies and comparing their replies. A patient sends a medicine request (typed names and/or a prescription photo) to nearby verified pharmacies; the pharmacies reply with availability, price and any alternative entered by their staff; the patient then chooses a pharmacy themselves and reserves. The app never chooses a pharmacy for you. DawaScout is not a pharmacy, does not sell medicine, and there are no payments in the app.
2. Eligibility
The service can be used by people of any age; we recommend that children use it with the knowledge of a parent or guardian. Pharmacy accounts are for licensed pharmacies and their staff, and receive requests only after admin review and verification.
3. Accounts
- Provide accurate details and keep them up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for activity on your account.
- Users cannot grant themselves pharmacy or admin permissions.
4. Pharmacies' responsibility
Pharmacies alone are responsible for the accuracy of their replies, including availability, prices, hold time, delivery and any alternatives their staff propose, and for dispensing medicine in line with applicable law. Prices shown are estimates entered by the pharmacist and exclude delivery; the pharmacy confirms the final price. DawaScout does not guarantee availability until a reservation is confirmed.
5. No medical advice
DawaScout does not diagnose, prescribe or recommend treatment, and does not suggest alternatives; alternatives are entered only by pharmacy staff. Consult a pharmacist or doctor before using any medicine or alternative. See the medical disclaimer.
6. Requests, reservations and expiry
- A request that is not reserved expires automatically after 24 hours.
- Each pharmacy sets the hold time in its reply, and a reservation expires automatically when that time runs out.
- An order is complete when the patient confirms receipt and the pharmacy confirms handover; if only one side confirms, it completes automatically after 48 hours.
- After a completed order each side can rate the other.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not send fake or misleading requests, and do not abuse pharmacies or other users.
- Do not upload unlawful content or content that is not yours, and do not try to access data you are not authorized to see or to disrupt the service.
- Request limits protect the service: at most 3 active requests at a time and at most 10 requests in 24 hours per patient.
8. Suspension
We may suspend any account that breaks these terms or misuses the service. Suspension removes access to app data immediately.
9. Limits of liability
The service is provided "as is", without any guarantee that a particular medicine or price will be available or that the service will run without interruption. DawaScout is not a party to the sale between you and the pharmacy and is not responsible for medicines, their quality or dispensing, or for pharmacies' replies, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the date of the latest update appears at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the updated terms.
